Just got home from Santee. Went to the weekend series championship on Friday and Saturday. This was a very very very well done event. The weigh in were fun and was a very good show. The catch was good on Wednesday thru Friday but Saturday really slowed down for most of the guys. Not too many giant fish but a fair number of 8 lb bass were weighed in. Nothing larger than 5 pounds on Saturday. The winning weight was about 64 lbs
Ray Scott was in attendance and he was just walking around talking to everyone on Friday. Saturday he was there signing books and then participated in the final weigh in ceremonies. There were only a couple vendors there but the folks from Clarendon county had a lot of people there on Saturday as food and beverage vendors.
The next big tourney at Santee will be in April and it will be a FLW Open tourney. It will be interesting to see how it compares to the ABA/BASS Event.

Terry. I talked to the young man for a few minutes and he was so excited. Seems like a very nice fellow. I bet he wishes he was in a Triton boat because it would have got him another $50K. His family was also there and they could hardly contain themselves. The last person to weigh in was the day 3 leader and when he came to the scales he weighed an amount that would have won him the tourney but it turned out to be a joke. The bag was full of water and NO FISH. The look on your friends face was worth a million dollars.
