The Alabama rig is prompting a lot of discussions about legal or not. This whole business seems like the next "best" doo dad to separate money from the fishing public. The whole thing seems kinda ridiculous to me. At what point do we say "WTF" We use 30 lb test line to catch a 3 lb fish, We buy boats that can go way too fast to be safe. We use sophisticated electronics to find more fish and yet when you get to the bottom line. The bags being caught all seem to be the same they were years ago. Heck now we have electronic devices designed to emulate feeding fish. Call me just another old fuddy duddy but it all seems to be a bit much.

It actually makes sense, it creates a school of fish and in competive fishing they will do what ever is within their legal means to win. John at truesouth is making one and it looks good. I use to rig up 2 flukes on one line and it always caught fish so I dont see why anyone would not want to try this.

I made a couple and threw them this weekend for a few minutes. To me, it's like any other bait, it'll have it's place and use.
I didn't catch anything and I have to say it's work, but I see some lakes where I might use it. It looks good in the water with a group of swimbaits.
The main drawbacks are the weight of the rig, noise it makes when it hits the water and expense. after you send the money for the rig, you still have five hooks and baits to put on it.

I think it is the five hooks that bother me. I would rather that it would conform to a two hook or three hook rig. I would think that a rig like this would work you to pieces.

Its just like an umberla rig that they use in salt water for trolling. It is a trolling rig which can not be used in tournaments. When I was a drrector and some one in the tournament had one I would tell thesm no go for a tournament.

But if you are casting and reeling then its not trolling.

I'd probably hang me, my backside, my graph, steering wheel, or the guy in the back of the boat trying to throw that thing. I gotta stick with one lure on one string if only for safety sake! LOL!! ;D ;D

I just got in 3 TS Rigs from John at true South. Those look good! I like it cuz it is only 3 hooks vs 5. I will throw them tomorrow at Sh Harris after the am bite (hopin the frog bite is on). I will be alternating between the TD Rig and a spoon. Hoping for the best.
